Courtney’s about 30 minutes into her swim, enjoying her precisely mixed concoction of Perpetuem and Gatorade, which reportedly tastes like a creamsickle. Also included in the feeding is a little mouthwash–to freshen up from that ocean-y taste. Stroke count is steady at 61 strokes/minute.

Already, we’ve encountered flying fish, sea lions, and sea lions leaping out of the water to eat the flying fish. Yum! The water is somewhat calm, but there’s a swell that’s rocking our boat. The captain told us there would be a rough patch at the beginning, but it’s forecasted to calm down a few hours into the swim. Stay tuned.
