The last 500 yards from shore have been brutal due to the heavy wind.

The Staten Island Ferry is a little too close for comfort. Last mile or so and Lady Liberty gives a wave!! So cool!!  Go Courtney!

Courtney is nearing the finish! 

Got the Manhattan skyline in sight. Crazy boat traffic, with tankers and barges.

Courtney and Matt are making their way under the Verrazano…way to go Courtney!!!!

Courtney’s been in the water just over 4 hours and she’s hanging strong.  She’s about 10 miles in, coming up on the Verrazano Bridge.

According to Matt, “Water has calmed a good bit, thank God.  Courtney’s tummy has been upset, but she’s motoring on.”   

Despite very choppy waters, Courtney swims strong.
